Transformer problems leave 2,200 Winnipeg customers in the dark

Power went out for nearly 2,200 Manitoba Hydro customers in Winnipeg Monday night after a problem with a transformer.

A CTV viewer says he heard crackling as he walked by a hydro transformer on Charles Street.

He says a Hydro employee was on scene, and fire crews arrived to the transformer shortly after.

Manitoba Hydro says the outage lasted about an hour from 5:40 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
