Two people face charges in a connection with a spree of break-ins targeting numerous businesses around the city.

Police launched their investigation on March 24. The businesses targeted include beauty salons, food stores, fast food restaurants and dry cleaners.

The suspects would break the glass front door to get into a business and target cash registers and safes, stealing an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

On April 9, police were called to a business on Fife Street that was broken into around 2:10 a.m. After a search involving the canine unit and the police Air1 helicopter, police arrested a 38-year-old male suspect in the 100 block of Salter Street.

Later that day, police also arrested a 39-year-old woman in connection with break-ins.

Michel Verrier, 38, faces numerous charges including 22 counts of break and enter, six counts of break and enter with intent, theft under $5,000 and possessing goods obtained by crime under $5,000. The 39-year-old female suspect faces six counts of break and enter, theft under $5,000, and possessing goods obtained by crime under $5,000.
