Two children have been safely located downtown at Portage and Maryland Street after going missing around 10 a.m. on Sunday morning.

Witt says she woke up Sunday morning and found her son and step-daughter were not in their beds.

But a little more than eight hours later, they were found at about 6:10 p.m.

"It was amazing just seeing my kids," said the mother of the missing children, Ashleigh Witt.

Family and friends turned to social media to help find her little boy Lucien Witt, 9, and her step-daughter Jocelyn Borynsky, 7.

The family says an internet savvy couple found the children, "a really nice couple that saw our post on Facebook with my name and number, they contacted me, and then they flagged down a police officer," said Ashleigh Witt.

Separate searches were conducted in areas where people allege they saw the children.

It was a frantic day for the family, who says they don't know what could have happened to the kids, "I don't have any words, it's just blood pressure to the maximum, it's just surreal is the word," said Borynsky's step-father, Simon Miller.

Friends said over 20 people participated in a search around the family home on Edgeland Blvd in Tuxedo.
