Paramedics took two people to hospital Thursday morning after a crash in Headingley, just outside the Perimeter Highway.

Emergency crews were on the scene of a two-vehicle collision along the Trans-Canada Highway shortly before 5:30 a.m.

Police said a pickup was stopped at a light at Race Track Road and the highway when it was rear-ended by a semi.

All eastbound traffic was temporarily blocked off as officials dealt with the wreckage of a pickup truck and the semi.

Two men in their sixties from the pickup were taken to hospital and police believe they will recover from their injuries. The semi driver was not hurt.
