Two people were taken to hospital Thursday morning after a small explosion at StandardAero.

Fire crews and paramedics rushed to the facility on Sargent Avenue after receiving reports of an explosion shortly before 11 a.m.

Two employees were injured and taken to the burn centre at the Health Sciences Centre.

Fire officials said one man suffered burns to his face and arms and went to hospital in unstable condition, while the second man suffered burns to his arms and was transported in stable.

Paramedics and other employees helped treat the victims before they were moved.

Fire officials said employees were fixing small leaks with a compressed flammable product and drying it with a heat source. The vapours exploded, said fire officials.
