Two people suffered injuries after a semi-truck rolled on the west Perimeter Friday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called around 5 p.m. to the scene, near the Assiniboia Downs. RCMP said the truck, not pulling a trialer, began hydroplaning and lost control, hit another vehicle, and rolled into the ditch.

Both occupants of the truck were taken to Health Sciences Centre, the driver in critical condition, the passenger in stable. Two dogs in the semi were also injured and treated at the scene.

All are expected to survive. The driver of the other vehicle hit by the semi did not suffer any injuries.

Traffic was backed up in the area while emergency crews responded to the rollover.
