Around 6:20 p.m. on Tuesday, officers were called to a home in Elie for the report of an unknown suspect(s) entering a home.

Police said the suspect allegedly entered the residence through an unlocked door and pushed a 39-year-old woman from behind.

The woman, who police say was cooking at the time, hit her head and suffered minor cuts as a result.

The couple, who contacted police, says no vehicles were observed or heard. The investigation is continuing as local inquiries have not located any suspects.

Police said they have no description of the suspects at this time.
