A 300 pound solid bronze urn stolen Monday was returned to its home Friday evening.

At 7 p.m., the religious artifact arrived at Hausing Buddhist Temple with a Winnipeg Police Service escort.

The decorative incense burner from Taiwan originally sat, bolted down, in front of the temple.

On Monday, security video captured what appears to be a man dragging the 136 kilogram piece across Cumberland Avenue. He then waits in an alley with the urn, sits on it at times, until an SUV pulls up and takes away the man and urn.

Police located the urn this week. It's valued at $8,000.

We’re told they have a suspect in mind, but have not laid charges at this time.

Temple staff says the urn has some damage and needs to be repaired and polished, but it does plan to place it back in its original spot on the temple’s front steps.
