Police have charged a second person with second-degree murder after an attack in a Furby Street apartment Thursday.

James Edsel Tucker, 45, died after he was assaulted inside a suite in the 400 block of Furby Street.

Police confirm tucker went by another name - William James Harcus.

Harcus is best known as the leader of Manitoba's Ku Klux Klan. Police say the death was not related to his involvement with the KKK.

Police have now charged Joshua Evans, 24, with second-degree murder in his death. Martin Archie Flett, 22, already faces the same charge in Tucker’s death.

On June 23 around 3 a.m., two suspects went to the apartment to buy drugs when they encountered a 37-year-old man living there. They got into a confrontation and the 37-year-old man was seriously assaulted, police said.

The victim was later forced into his suite, where the suspects found Tucker. A confrontation again broke out and Tucker was stabbed, after which the suspects fled.

Paramedics rushed Tucker to hospital in critical condition, but he later died from his injuries.

In addition to the charge of second-degree murder, Evans and Flett are charged with two counts robbery with a fire arm, kidnapping with a firearm, sexual assault, assault with a weapon and other weapons-related offences.

Police have both men in custody.
