A local group will set out on Sunday to search for a missing Winnipeg teacher who was last seen Wednesday morning.

Kevin Dilk, 50, left home around 5 a.m. Wednesday, for his French teaching job at Collège Béliveau, and hasn’t been heard from since, his wife told CTV Thursday.

Marion Willis, the founder and executive director of St. Boniface Street Links, is organizing volunteers to help conduct a co-ordinated search.

“To me when somebody has been missing since Wednesday, I don’t think knocking on people’s doors is going to help much. I think there needs to be a co-ordinated ground search,” said Willis.

She said the group has received a ‘huge response’ of people interested in helping.

Willis said one volunteer has expertise in ground searching and, will help searchers target specific areas.

“We are working with other family members to make this happen,” she added.

The group will meet Sunday at 11 a.m. at 311 Provencher Blvd.
