Winnipeg voters are reminded to bring identification when casting their ballots in the civic election October 22.

The City of Winnipeg requires all eligible voters to provide identification at the voting place.

Examples of acceptable documents to confirm your name and address include:

• One piece of valid government-issued photo ID with name and current address (examples: Driver’s Licence, Enhanced Identification Card),

OR

• Two documents that together prove name and current address, such as:

  • Birth Certificate
  • Canadian Citizenship card
  • Canadian Passport
  • Credit card
  • Debit card/ATM card
  • Indian Status Certificate card
  • Membership card
  • Student card
  • Social Insurance Number (S.I.N.) card
  • Automobile Club card
  • Cheque, personalized, blank
  • Credit card statement
  • Current valid contract
  • Health insurance card (Manitoba BlueCross; Manitoba Health Services Commission)
  • Home insurance policy certificate
  • Income Tax Assessment statement
  • Old Age Pension/Security card
  • Property Tax bill
  • RRSP (retirement savings plan) or mutual fund statement
  • Utility bill statement
  • Vehicle registration/Autopac Statement
