The Winnipeg Art Gallery launched three exhibits on Saturday evening.

Two exhibits will feature the famed 20th-century artist Marc Chagall, alongside a show highlighting Esther Warkov, one of Manitoba’s most distinctive painters.

Both the National Gallery of Canada and the WAG are presenting Chagall: Daphnis & Chloé which showcases 42 lithograph prints by the artist, considered to be the crowning achievements of his career as a print maker.

This latest collaboration features Russian-born Jewish artist Chagall.

Considered a pioneer of modernism, his illustrations of Daphnis & Chloé, depict the tale written by the ancient Greek poet Longus.

The two exhibits runs now until Sept. 11.
