HEARST, Ont. -- Ontario Provincial Police say a Winnipeg man is charged after being pulled over in northern Ontario.

Police allege the 24-year-old was clocked at more than twice the speed limit in Highway 11 west of Hearst, Ont.

They say the incident occurred Thursday during poor driving conditions.

The man is charged with racing a motor vehicle and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The driver is scheduled to appear in Hearst court on Jan. 9.
