WINNIPEG -- Winnipeg police are looking for a bystander who intervened in a domestic dispute that led to a man's death.

Police say Marlon Laronde and a woman were arguing in a restaurant parking lot earlier this month when the bystander intervened, worried for the woman's safety.

Police say the man got into a fight with the 33-year-old Laronde.

During the fight, police say Laronde was hit and fell to the ground and that the bystander left before officers arrived.

Laronde was taken to hospital in critical condition and died last week.

Police are asking the bystander and anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them.
