An investigation into credit card fraud has led Winnipeg police to the arrests of two suspects from Montreal.

Winnipeg police say they travelled to Winnipeg earlier this week for the purpose of committing credit card fraud.

Between Aug. 25 and Aug. 26, the suspects used forget credit cards at three department stores in Winnipeg to purchase iPads, iPods, pre-paid credit cards and gift cards.

Police estimate the value of their purchases to be $29,000.

The targeted businesses contacted police following the suspicious transactions.

On Aug. 26, 2015, members of the Commercial Crime Unit located and arrested two suspected in the 2000 block of Wellington Avenue.

Steevy Berthelot, 18, and Oussama Kansou, 25, of Montreal, were charged with numerous offences, including fraud, said police.

Both were remanded into custody.

The charges against both suspects have not been proven in court.
