A Winnipeg police officer is facing criminal charges, according to RCMP.
He's suspected of assaulting his wife, they said.
RCMP arrested the 44-year-old officer at a home on Jan. 7, after emergency crews were called about a domestic dispute.
The officer was off duty at the time.
He was officially charged Wednesday. RCMP said his name will not be released to protect the alleged victim.
