The World Junior Hockey Championships may be back in Winnipeg as early at 2019.
True North Sports and Entertainment, along with a group from Saskatoon, have a combined bid sent to Hockey Canada.
The governing body is expected to announce the host site within the next few months.
Saskatoon last hosted the event in 2010, while Winnipeg last hosted in 1999.
