Musical power couple Beyoncé and Jay-Z stopped in Winnipeg Sunday night during their On The Run tour. Thousands of fans flocked to Investors Group Field to watch the duo perform.

“They are such a perfect couple. They are like the king and queen of everything,” said Destiny Meyler.

Meyler arrived early with her friend to take in the atmosphere. She said she feels a special connection to Beyoncé.

“I feel like Beyoncé is my child because my name is Destiny and she used to belong to the group Destiny’s Child, so it’s fitting,” said Meyler.

This was the second and last Canadian stop on the tour. The only other Canadian city that had a tour date was Toronto.

Expectations were high as many fans saw Beyoncé and Jay-Z for the first time.

“I’ve never been to a Beyoncé concert but I’ve heard lots of Beyoncé’s music, obviously seen her videos and stuff like that. And my friends who have been to her concerts before say she’s just an amazing performer. So if you already like the music, you show up for an amazing performance, it’s like wow,” said Jacqueline Loewen.

The tour stops next on the American west coast, before finishing in Paris, France.
