Sioux Valley security officers managed to pull a woman from a burning vehicle early Friday morning.

On Dec. 2 around 8:15 a.m., Virden RCMP received a report of a vehicle that had driven over 150 metres off the road and caught on fire on Sioux Valley First Nation in Manitoba.

Woman saved from burning vehicle

“The security officers put their own safety at risk and pulled the female from the burning vehicle after she was unresponsive to their calls,” said a post on the RCMP of Manitoba’s Facebook.

While RCMP were on route to the location, the security offices found the woman, who was the lone occupant in the vehicle.

RCMP are applauding the actions of the officers who prevented the woman from sustaining serious injuries.

Virden RCMP are continuing to investigate. They suspect alcohol to be a factor in the collision.
