A construction worker was taken to hospital with serious injuries after falling off a roof in Selkirk.

People working with the man say he fell four stories and landed between a pile of concrete and some tin.

They say he was able to walk away after the accident, but paramedics took him to hospital in Selkirk to be checked out.

The 21-year-old worker employed by Bjornson Roofing was shingling the roof of a residential building under construction at 1027 Manitoba Ave. when he fell,around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

His condition is not known, although his injuries aren’t considered life-threatening, said a provincial spokesperson.

Workplace Safety and Health is investigating the incident, although no orders have been issued to the employer.
