Call it a flip flop flip. Transcona city councillor Russ Wyatt has filed his nomination papers to run for another term at city council.

On Friday, Wyatt announced he would run for the federal Liberals instead, only to change his mind this week.

Wyatt said an influx of calls from the community asking him to reconsider prompted the move.

Before he announced his run for the Liberals, Wyatt was already registered to run as a city councillor.

Two candidates who registered to run in Transcona on Monday said they will likely bow out now that Wyatt is back in the race.

Blessing Feschuk and Ray Ulasy are the other nominated hopefuls.

George Baars-Wilhelm is a registered candidate as well.
