Two people died in a crash on Highway 9, north of Petersfield, Monday afternoon.

RCMP and emergency crews responded around 12 p.m. Nov. 18 to the two-vehicle crash.

STARS said one of its air ambulances had also been dispatched.

RCMP said a 72-year-old man from the RM of St. Andrews had been headed northbound when he lost control of his vehicle and collided with a southbound vehicle, driven by a 51-year-old man from the RM of St. Andrews. An 82-year-old woman was a passenger in the southbound vehicle, said police.

RCMP said both the 72-year-old man and the 82-year-old woman died in the crash. Police have not released their names.

The 51-year-old man is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

RCMP continue to investigate but said alcohol is not a factor in the crash.
