CTV News has learned a call was made in February to 911 from a home in Calgary where Dustin LaFortune and Dustin Paxton lived, but an operator did not dispatch police.

Paxton was arrested last week and charged with the assault and forcible confinement of LaFortune, his former roommate.

LaFortune, 26, was barely alive when he was dropped off by someone at a Regina hospital in April.

He had severe injuries, including burns, and had been reduced to a third of his regular weight.

Police only became aware of the February 911 call last week.

A 911 call centre manager in Calgary said an investigation is now underway.
