Actor Adam Beach is coming soon to bring a theatre near you. He and Bandwidth Digital Releasing Inc. are offering the movie theatre experience on reserves.

Beach hopes the pop-up theatre unifies families and inspires new aboriginal filmmakers.

It debuts Friday night at Brokenhead Ojibway First Nation. A massive screen, thundering digital surround sound, and popcorn machines transform the school gymnasium.

Bringing the theatre experience helps get people into the movies in another way, too. Money made will go to Beach's film institute for aboriginal youth.

New releases and recent favourites will play all weekend, including some movies with aboriginal content. Norway House Cree Nation and Sandy Bay First Nation will get the theatre next.
