The Winnipeg police major crimes unit is investigating an armed robbery where two thieves got away with a large quantity of drugs.

The robbery happened at a Shoppers Drug Mart in the Unicity Mall Sunday after 5 p.m.

Two men armed with a handgun entered the store and forced all seven female staff to lie down on the ground while they looted the pharmacy, said police.

No one was injured.

The first suspect is described as a male, approximately six feet tall (183 cm) and about 220 to 230 pounds (99 - 104 kg), wearing a grey hoodie, a black balaclava and dark-coloured track pants.

The second suspect is described as a male, approximately six feet two inches tall (188 cm), approximately 170 pounds (77 kg), with a thin build, a fair complexion, and blond/light-coloured reddish hair. He was wearing dark-coloured shorts with black shoes and a bandana covering part of his face.
