A Carberry man woke up to bullet holes in his house over the Labour Day long weekend.

Wednesday, RCMP said they made an arrest. A 19-year-old Carberry man will appear in a Brandon courtroom Wednesday. A firearm was also recovered during the investigation.

The shooting happened around 3:00 a.m. Monday. There were three people sleeping in the living room. The home's renter says at least four bullets entered the house through the living room window. Nobody was hurt.

The three people sleeping in the house thought someone was throwing rocks at the home. It wasn't until later in the morning that they realized it was bullets that came through the window.

Carolyn Baldwin lives across the street. She didn't hear anything Monday morning. Baldwin says Carberry is normally a quiet and safe community. The shooting has her worried.

"It's scary living across the street from something that happened like that," she says. "It does concern you because you don't know if it's just a random thing or if it could happen to us."

At this point the Mounties believe it is an isolated incident.
