A former Brandon city manager used a corporate credit card for thousands of dollars of personal charges, said city officials.

An audit revealed that Brian MacRae used a city credit card for $15,000 of personal expenses.

The charges were racked up in 2009 and 2010.

MacRae resigned as city manager during this October's municipal election.

Using city credit cards for personal spending is a breach of policy.

No legal action will be taken because all of the money has been paid back, said city officials.

Brandon Mayor Shari Decter Hirst said the city is now reviewing its credit card usage and travel and expense reimbursement policies.
