An indigenous group that helps search for missing people in Winnipeg wants to help remote northern community in crisis.

The Bear Clan patrol group is partnering with Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre to help the children of Pimicikamak Cree Nation, known as Cross Lake, where six people have died by suicide in the last six months.

Bear Clan and Ma Mawi are collecting donations of arts and craft supplies, sports equipment, and anything else people want to donate.

People can drop off donations at the centre, located at 445 King St. During regular business hours of 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Between now and Friday, March 18.
