The Winnipeg Blue Bombers failed to put an end to a long losing streak on home turf against the Calgary Stampeders.

The blue and gold dropped a 29-10 decision to the Stamps in Friday night’s home opener.

The turning point may have come in the third quarter when Maleki Harris intercepted a Matt Nichols throw for a pick-six.

Calgary has now won 17 of their past 18 games with the Bombers and has won in every visit to Winnipeg since 2009.

The Stamps are also a perfect 6-0 at Investors Group Field.

"Any loss is disappointing,” Blue Bombers defensive back Chris Randle said after the game. “I think our fans...we appreciate their support and we want to win for them. We want to win for ourselves and we want to win for this organization so all in all it's a disappointing loss."

For his part, Nichols said he’ll be better.

“Overall I felt like I was seeing everything extremely well…that's why this position's so tough. Really two bad plays in my opinion that I made and both costly," he said.

Winnipeg’s next game goes Thursday night when they host the Toronto Argonauts.

Game time is 7:30 p.m.
