The latest numbers from Statistics Canada say we have fewer jobs nationally, and a lower unemployment rate.

Officials say nationwide, we lost jobs, but as even more people dropped out of the search for work, the jobless number went down.

Statistics Canada says we have a 7.0 per cent unemployment rate, down one basis point from the month before.

In Manitoba, the unemployment rate dipped 0.2 per cent from December, now sitting at 5.0.
