Candice Bergen re-elected in Portage-Lisgar for fifth term

Candice Bergen is returning to Ottawa for her fifth term as a Member of Parliament.

The Conservative MP handily won re-election in the Portage-Lisgar riding. According to CTV’s Decision Desk, she has received 52.9 per cent of the vote as of midnight on Monday.

Bergen has represented the riding since 2008.

Solomon Wiebe of The People’s Party of Canada is in second place, receiving 20.8 per cent of the vote. In the 2019 election, the party finished in fifth place with only 2.6 per cent of the vote.

Ken Friesen with the NDP is in third place with 13.7 per cent of the vote, while Andrew Carrier with the Liberals is in fourth place with 11.1 per cent of the vote.

Jerome Dondo with the Christian Heritage Party has received 1.5 per cent of the vote.
