Winnipeg police have made an arrest in a December homicide at a Westwood hotel.
The victim, now identified as 57-year-old George Gabriel Flett of St. Theresa Point, was found seriously injured at the Westwood Village Inn on Dec. 11, 2015.
He died on Jan. 5.
Police said Flett was a guest at the hotel and had been assaulted in his room.
On Dec. 22, Darcy Jerome Beardy, 29, was charged with aggravated assault.
That charge was upgraded to second-degree murder on Wednesday.
