City council voted 14 to 2 on Wednesday to continue the controversial program for another seven years.
Coun. Brian Mayes (St. Vital) and Protection Chair Coun. Scott Fielding (St. James - Brooklands) voted against the plan.
The cost of the program is just under $21 million, and would include an upgrade to digital technology.
Fielding previously said he’d rather see that $21 million used to add 57 new cops to deal with traffic enforcement and other crimes.
