A crash on the north Perimeter Friday morning has sent one woman to hospital with serious injuries.

Just before 10:00 a.m., RCMP say two vehicles collided on the north Perimeter just west of Highway 6.

It appears a westbound Toyota collided with a utility truck that was stopped on the shoulder of the highway.

The male driver of the truck was not injured.

The woman driving the Toyota was taken to hospital with serious, undetermined injuries.

Police have closed the westbound lanes of the Perimeter.

The highway is expected to remain closed for the next few hours whole police investigate and clean up the highway.
