A five month crime spree came to an end Thursday following the arrest of several suspects.

Police say they are involved in at least six incidents since June 11.

The first one involved two suspects who smashed the window of a car and pepper sprayed three occupants, say officers. This incident happened in the 100 block of Euclid Avenue.

On July 7, three male youths approached a 17-year-old female in the 100 block of Machray Avenue. Police say the suspects demanded she hand over her belongings but she refused. They pepper sprayed her and then left the area.

Later that day, the suspects approached two other victims in the 1300 block of Main Street, demanding property from them. Officers say the victim's were able to get away unharmed and contact police.

The suspects approached a 41-year-old man selling ice cream a couple hours later in the area of Euclid Avenue and Hallet Street. The youths demanded money and then pepper sprayed the victim, according to police. One of them also attacked the man in his upper body, after which he handed over cash and his bike. The suspects then left the area.

On Thursday at around 12:30 in the morning, the suspects approached two victims in the area of Main Street and Euclid Avenue. The victims got away and hid in a nearby yard, but then one of the suspects located the pair, say police. One suspect allegedly took out a firearm and began fighting with one of the victims.

A police unit which was passing through the area observed the incident and approached the group.

Police say the suspect then left the scene but was later located with the assistance of the canine unit. He was found hiding in a nearby yard and was arrested. The firearm was also located and seized by officers.

A 15-year-old male has been arrested and charged with several robbery and weapon related offences. He is in police custody.

A police investigation also led to the arrest of three 17-year-old males who had previously been arrested in connection with the other incidents.

The case is still under investigation.
