Playoff spots were on the line in the final round robin draw at the Manitoba Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Beausejour, Manitoba.

Kerri Einarson and Cathy Overton-Clapham clinched in the Extreme Force group with wins in the morning draw.

The undefeated number one seed, Kristy McDonald, secured top spot in the Asham group yesterday to set up a meeting with Einarson in the 1 vs. 1 game which takes place at 6 p.m.

That left one playoff spot up for grabs and three teams in contention.

Joelle Brown needed a win against McDonald to keep her playoff hopes alive and she came through with a 9-5 victory to stay in the hunt.

Brown still needed Michelle Montford to get by Shannon Birchard and that game came right down the wire.

Birchard drew to the four foot in the tenth end to win 6-5 and finished second place in the Asham group.

Birchard’s win eliminated both Brown and Montford.

Birchard will take on Overton-Clapham in the 2 vs. 2 game at 6 p.m.

The winner of the 1 vs. 1 game goes straight to Sunday afternoon’s championship final.

The loser will meet the winner of the 2 vs. 2 game in Sunday morning’s semifinal at 9 a.m.
