Violent offender likely to reoffend released in Edmonton

A man with a violent criminal history and “homicidal ideations” is living in Edmonton, police are warning the public.

Yu Wang, also known by the name Brian, was released from the Edmonton Remand Centre on Tuesday.

Releasing his photo and name to the public the next evening, Edmonton Police Service said Wang is a violent offender who has “expressed homicidal ideations towards the public.”

“As well, he is believed to have conducted attacks on infrastructure within communities he resides in.”

EPS added it has “reasonable grounds to believe he will commit another violent offence against the public while in the community.”

EPS said it has applied for a peace bond to “better supervise” Wang on these grounds.
