East St. Paul’s Kerri Einarson advanced to the championship game at the 2016 Manitoba Scotties Tournament of Hearts with an 8-3 over St. Vital’s Shannon Birchard in Sunday morning’s semifinal.
Einarson scored a deuce in the first end and stole a single in the second to get out to an early 3-0 lead.
In the seventh end, Birchard gave up a steal of three and trailed 8-2 going into the eighth end.
Birchard scored a single in the eighth but shook hands afterwards dropping an 8-3 decision to Einarson.
It will be Einarson’s third consecutive appearance in the provincial final.
She will take on Kristy McDonald at 1:30 p.m.
