RCMP are reminding Manitobans to take care on ice after a truck plunged through Lake Winnipeg Saturday morning.

A father and daughter were fishing on the west side of the lake near Matlock when their truck fell through the ice.

A witness said the girl was inside the truck when it began to fall through the ice, and her father went back into the vehicle to save her.

The pair were driven back to the city by a passerby in the area.

RCMP said they are both home safe in the RM of Rockwood.
