A fundraising campaign to help educate children about predators turns out to be legitimate after all.
Winnipeg police had put out a warning Wednesday morning that the campaign, which is being conducted by phone in Winnipeg, was a scam.
They later discovered it was actually a legitimate operation being run by the Canadian Police Association.
The Winnipeg Police Service says they are not involved in the fundraising event.
They apologize for any confusion.
