Gas tax returns to Manitoba
Manitoba’s gas tax holiday has now come to an end.
The fuel tax returned Wednesday, but now includes a 10 per cent discount, which brings the rate down to 12.5 cents/litre.
The Government of Manitoba suspended the 14-cent-a-litre gas tax at the start of 2024 and extended it throughout the year.
In his year-end interview with CTV Winnipeg, Premier Wab Kinew announced the province would be making a permanent 10 per cent cut to the tax.
