The Manitoba government is offering more help for hog producers.

Rosann Wowchuk, the province's agriculture minister, says hog producers can now get loans of up to $5 million for their operations.

The previous limit was $2.5 million.

She says larger hog operations need to maintain higher cash flows, and they're responding to that need.

More than 140 loans, worth about $38 million are either being processed or have been approved.
