WINNIPEG -- Winnipeg Jets defenceman Ron Hainsey says he doesn't know how fans will react when he skates on the ice this season.

Hainsey was front and centre during the NHL lockout as a player representative.

After a skate in Winnipeg, he said he's sorry the dispute took so long to settle and fans have a right to be upset.

Jets netminder Ondrej Pavelec also said he was sorry for his impaired driving conviction last year in his native Czech Republic.

Both were among the latest Jets to arrive as the team prepares for the lockout-shortened season to start.

Defenceman Dustin Byfuglien also took to the ice and looked fit but as usual laughed off requests to disclose his weight.
