A Hydro pole fire near Bishop Grandin and Lakewood Boulevards knocked out power in parts of Winnipeg’s south end Sunday.

Manitoba Hydro said about 3,300 customers in Southdale and St. Vital lost power around 10:45 a.m.

Most of those affected in St. Vital had their power restored around 2:00 p.m.

The remaining customers are expected to have power again by midnight.

Pole fires were a problem across southern Manitoba Sunday.

Sporadic outages also took place in Oakbank, Weston, Seven Sisters, Oakville and Elm creek. 

Manitoba Hydro also restored power to about 800 customers in the Selkirk area.
