The Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba (IIU) is investigating a complaint of possible impaired driving by off-duty RCMP officers.
According to RCMP, there was a party held on June 29, 2017 at an off-duty officer’s home, with several RCMP officers in attendance.
The allegation is that sometime during the night, two off-duty members who had consumed alcohol took their vehicles for a drive.
The allegation was reported to RCMP on July 6, 2017, and an investigation began.
The IIU investigates all serious incidents involving police officers in Manitoba, whether they occur on or off duty.
