Charges have been laid against two suspects in connection with a crash that killed a 24-year-old man near Thompson on Thursday morning, said RCMP.

Tyson David Tyler Brightnose, 19, of Thompson faces multiple charges, including impaired driving causing death and two counts of breach of probation, said RCMP. He also faces a charge for public mischief for allegedly attempting to mislead the investigation, said officers.

A 16-year-old male youth also faces charges for allegedly attempting to mislead investigators regarding who was driving.

Simon Julien, 24, of Thompson died in the head-on crash involving his car and an SUV on Highway 391, about two km north of Thompson, said RCMP.
