A black bear cub is dealing with significant injuries and malnutrition after it was found on Bloodvein First Nation.

Manitoba Sustainable Development said they were made aware last week of the injured cub, and reached out to Assiniboine Park Conservancy to examine the animal.

It said the cub had significant injuries and is very malnourished. However, the animal is starting to take food and seems to be responding to treatment.

The province said it’s too soon to say if it will make a full recovery.
