A Stony Mountain inmate has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of 37-year old Bernard Hart.

Former Leaf Rapids resident Skylar Spence is the third person now facing charges. The 20-year old suspect was serving time at Stony Mountain on an unrelated matter at the time of his arrest.

Hart was reported missing from Oxford House First Nation in June of last year.

RCMP discovered the victim's remains in a wooded area east of Thompson in July.

Police said the death was a homicide but did not reveal how Hart died. Officials continued to investigate and in October exhumed the victim's remains for further examination.

An arrest was made in December and a 13-year old boy from Thompson was charged with second-degree murder. Police made a second arrest on January 19 at the Brandon Correctional Centre. Raymond McDonald of Nelson House First Nation has also been charged with second-degree murder. The 20-year old was in jail in connection with an unrelated incident.
