A Winnipeg fire hall is under investigation after allegations a firefighter was caught with a woman while on duty.

The alleged incident happened in July at the Osborne Village fire hall.

It is alleged a fire truck was delayed because a firefighter was missing.

The senior firefighter was allegedly found inside an equipment shed in the middle of a sexual encounter with a woman.

Even though the investigation is in its early stages, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service Chief Jim Brenna maintains emergency calls were taken care of.

"I'm told that all the calls at the station that night were responded to immediately, there were no delays no trucks were taken out of service," Brennan said.

Still, Brennan is upset with the allegations.

"Sadden, distressed, shocked that these allegations have come forward. They're people who try to serve the public the best they can, they don't like these kinds of things happening," said Brennan.

The firefighter in question has been transferred to another hall as the investigation continues. A hearing is scheduled for next week.

The Osborne Village hall has been under fire before.

In 2004, four young girls made a late night visit to the hall and were given rides home in a fire truck.

Last fall, two paramedics were arrested for trying to solicit sex while on duty.
