Guelph Police have charged a man after they say he threatened to kill an employee at a business in the city’s west end.
Police were told an employee at the Silvercreek Parkway North business noticed a man putting several items into a backpack and leaving the store on Saturday at around 4:20 p.m. When the employee tried to confront the man, he threatened to kill the employee and then took off.
The suspect was identified on Sunday and, during his arrest, officers found a pocketknife.
They said the man had also violated bail conditions which had been set earlier in the month, after he reportedly assaulted and threatened employees at two other businesses.
The 23-year-old man has been charged with robbery, carrying a concealed weapon and failing to comply with a bail order.
